Hello again, Lisa Brown with my update on a fantastic year here at LondonTown.com - now the world's most popular destination website. We recently undertook a user audit with Hitbox Enterprise in the USA. It was found that LondonTown.com's user figures reached 603,455 unique users (that's equivalent to 115 capacity crowds at the Royal Albert Hall), making LondonTown.com the most popular destination website in the world.

Having a global audience means that the site is busy 24hrs a day, particularly between 8am and midnight GMT.

 

During September and October a technical analysis was conducted of the computers accessing LondonTown.com. 2 million visits were analysed and found the following:
 
94% of visitors use a Microsoft Windows operating system;
95 - 23%; 98 - 51%; 2000 - 4%; NT - 16%
76%are using Microsoft Explorer as their Internet browser; Netscape - 24%
98%have Java-Script enabled
57%have their screen resolution set to 800 x 600 pixels; 1024 x 768 pixels - 26%
55%have their monitor colour palette set to 65,536 colours; 4.2 Billion - 21%


Although 47% of LondonTown.com users come from countries where English is not the principal language, 74% were running an English language operating system on their computer. The Most popular languages were: 1. English

On average, when booking online, customers book accommodation for 3.2 nights and the bookings are made approximately 41 days in advance of arriving in London.
