If you're bored of staying in faceless international hotels, then you should try this quirky gem where no two rooms are the same. Georgian panelling, cavernous fireplaces and gothic screens make this feel like stepping into the 18th century, though this is a past with internet access, air-conditioning and well-equipped bathrooms. A strange and beautiful place that is particularly popular with writers and artists.

Hi, although the bathrooms are beautifully fitted out, from a practical point the standalone bath ( which is very narrow) with the handheld showerhead makes it impossible to have a proper shower without flooding the bathroom , allowing the showerhead to go out of control at some pont or not being able to reach your toiletties. I,m fit and able but for more elderly quests I think it could be a challange. ![]() |
