A lavish £80m refurbishment reasserts the brilliance of this Victorian hotel first opened in 1865 - the first grand hotel in London and possibly the most stylish. Roux at The Landau restaurant and Artesian cocktail bar are stunning (thanks to architect David Collins) while the Palm Court makes the perfect place for afternoon tea. The grand ballroom, Chuan Spa and 16-metre indoor swimming pool add to the feeling of luxury but also confirm this as a very special place to stay.

This “fantastic hotel in the heart of London” has “excellent” service “from arrival outside the hotel to checking out” with “helpful, friendly and polite” staff. The beds in the “very comfortable and well-equipped rooms” are among “the best hotel beds ever”, although some rooms have “no view”. It has a “perfect” location “only a ten minute walk from Oxford Street” but “once inside the hotel” it’s an oasis of calm, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. While some found the mini-bar goods to be “overpriced”, others described the Artesian Bar as “first class” with “very good” food. Breakfast is also “terrific” and meals at the hotel restaurant are deemed “delicious”.

The Langham Hotel in London was wonderful. and we
would definitely stay there again.
My only comment is that it would have been nice if
the weekend continental breakfast could have been
available at 7:00 am instead of 8:00 am for those
with early flights.  |

This hotel was sumptuous, the spa with free access to guests
was I lovely experience which we made use of twice. Customer
service was pretty much perfect with nothing too much
trouble. Only constructive feedback would be for those that
turned down beds, the tidying up was a bit over zealous for my
liking :-) |

The room was not ready at 4.30pm when check in time was 3pm. I had left my case with the concierge earlier but when the room was available my case could not be found for quite some time. |
