"Attention to detail" and "nice little extras" pleased most guests at this “intimate and friendly", "private and elegant", Georgian town house. "Unexpected niceties" included "music welcoming us", "complimentary bottles of mineral water", "free daily newspapers and fresh fruit" and "well-informed recommendations". "Very comfortable" with "high quality" furnishings, the Academy's private garden was found to be "a quiet and peaceful place to relax and meditate". An older building, the hotel's lack of lifts, meant that some of the rooms "were a bit of a hike" but most found it was "worth the effort". Guests expressed plans to "go back again", while one would recommend it "to everybody who is planning to travel to London".

I needed a hotel within walking distance from
where I was working this week and the Academy
was less than a minute. The room was small, but
it was a single, but the main thing was it was
clean and comfortable. The staff were very polite
and helpful. I will be staying there again in the
next couple of months. |

Did feel that the shower room could have been cleaned from slight black fungus in the grouting and the window frame. It was a nice quiet room at the top of the house, and had a view over the back garden. slightly pricy as it did not include breakfast. |
