Thick carpets, antique furniture, free-standing claw-foot baths and delicate floral fabrics create an atmosphere of intimate country house elegance throughout this boutique Georgian hotel owned by the Eton group. Located in literary Bloomsbury, close to the British Library and British Museum, The Academy's homely touches include a well-stocked library opening out onto two private gardens complete with fishpond and outdoor tables.

I needed a hotel within walking distance from
where I was working this week and the Academy
was less than a minute. The room was small, but
it was a single, but the main thing was it was
clean and comfortable. The staff were very polite
and helpful. I will be staying there again in the
next couple of months. ![]() |

Did feel that the shower room could have been cleaned from slight black fungus in the grouting and the window frame. It was a nice quiet room at the top of the house, and had a view over the back garden. slightly pricy as it did not include breakfast. ![]() |
