| After one of the most ambitious restoration programmes in Britain, The Savoy was officially reopened in autumn 2010 by Prince Charles. Pierre Yves Rochon's three-year, £220-million redesign combined the Art Deco and Edwardian styles of the original and involved the complete building, including the courtyard, all the public areas and guest rooms. Established in 1889, the grand building on the Strand is a Victorian creation of quite astounding magnificence, and as much a London landmark. It has a long tradition of fine dining, reflected today in the Michelin-starred Savoy Grill the River Restaurant, The American Bar, Beaufort Bar, Thames Foyer and Savoy Tea room.
