Overlooking Kensington Gardens on the Bayswater side of the park, Thistle Hyde Park is an elegant Victorian hotel but which also comes with all modern amenities. If your room is on the park you'll benefit from some pleasant views. Rooms do come in various shapes and lay-outs but all have marble bathrooms, complimentary WiFi and most are a good size.

Guests “loved the location of the hotel, right opposite Hyde Park” and within a “nice walking distance of Selfridges”. It’s also in a “convenient location with choice of Underground stations within easy walking distance”. On arrival, though, “it would be nice to have a ramp up to the front door from the street for wheeled bags, which now have to be carried up five or six steps, the concierge is not always available to help with heavy bags.” Despite being a Thistle, it’s a “small hotel”. It also has “good size rooms, with full-size bathtub” and “coffee and tea facilities in the room”. Despite the fact that one guest found that “breakfast is very expensive”, suggesting “a shorter and cheaper menu, or a coffee-shop” as an alternative, most said they would “definitely go back there to stay”.

The interior is beautiful. The beds are clean and comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Sure will stay in this hotel again. Good location too.  |

Great location for visiting places, only a few minutes
from Lancaster Gate station and the central line.
Standard double rooms are very small and would be
more suitable as single rooms. The rooms shown on
the internet are suites. Hotel staff were all very
friendly knowledgeable and helpful especially the front
desk staff Sam and Justin. Breakfast was really good
and great value on a promotional rate of £10 per
person, although this was not explained at time of
check in. |
