Nestled in a delightful tree-lined avenue, this appealing family-run hotel is located in a traditional Victorian house. Refreshingly affordable, this little gem makes for a wonderful escape from the busy commotion of the capital. The house has been painstakingly preserved with original fireplaces and ornate plaster cornices still in place. The beautiful bedrooms are all very individual and have been tastefully furnished with attractive antique furniture. One room boasts a king-sized four posted bed with Muslin drapes and embroidered quilts. The green, leafy charm of the area belies its fifteen minute journey into central London. It's just so peaceful. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and visitors can stroll along Croydon Canal or your weave through traditional almshouses and quaint English cottages. Penge really is a breath of fresh air.

Breakfast was great! Conveniently located by Penge East rail station.
Suggestions: bathroom was clean, but smelled like mold. Possibly d/t non-slip mat in bathroom. Smell permeated room- was unpleasant. No mold noted on tiles. ![]() |
