“The hotel decor and feel” were largely enjoyed by guests; in spite of occasional complaints about rooms that were “beginning toshow wear” and had “torn sheets”, most guests found it “very modern” and enjoyed the “beautiful foyer”. The Brasserie,Rhodes 1, was considered excellent, as was the breakfast buffet, though there were complaints about the sheer size of the breakfast room which was “like a… station”, and “Too big, like an airport”. Much more popular was the “beautiful and cosy bar”. The “great location” “next to tube and shops” and the “big bed” made this popular with leisure travellers, but business travellers had somecomplaints about the lack of business centre and “bizarre rates” for internet use.

The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful, however, my colleague have problems with her room in that her tv didn't work and there was no hot water to the bathroom. In the end she had to move rooms. We wouldn't recommend to others, even though we recognise the Cumberland is a London City Centre hotel, we felt that we simply did not receive value for money |
