The Town Hall building in Bethnal Green has been beautifully restored creating a unique designer hotel which fuses old and new. With a mix of bedrooms, studios, suites and spacious apartments - each one unique - all rooms come with one-off vintage furniture and fully fitted kitchens. The restaurant, pool, gym and spa add to the five star feel but it's the careful restoration - with original marble staircases and art-deco modelled meeting rooms - that make this a real gem.

I stayed at the Town Hall Hotel/Apartments, in one of the
self contained apartments.
The room was finished to a very high standard, as one
would expect for accommodation of this class, and the
restaurant/bar were superb. I didn't have the
opportunity of trying out the Michelin star restaurant,
but the 'Corner Bar' was excellent. I'd also recommend
the room service breakfast, which at £25 with a hot item,
was excellent value as it would have fed 3!
One thing that I found strange was the location. This is a
6 star hotel effectively situated in the middle of council
flats. This was offset for me by Bethnal Green tube
station being a 5 minute walk away, providing an easy
way to get anywhere in London quickly. Others booking
such a high class room may be surprised at the location
however.
I'd love to stay again and book the 'chef in your room',
where one of the chefs cooks a 6 course sample menu for
you using your own rooms cooking facilities, looks
amazing.
Overall, I was very happy with the hotel, staff and overall
experience.  |

Extremely friendly, surprsingly clean, stunning architecture,
Maybe a bit far from center, but then again, very close to the next Tube, so no problem at all.
My wife and I had a extremely good time and we voted the place one of the best Hotels we ever been to. Only we did not try the kitchen, as we tried some of the numerous little Asian cusines in the neigborhood... that was great too! |

The breakfast was a little diappointing in that the toast was burned and the scambled eggs looked as if they had been cooked a long time before being brought to the room.
Otherwise a nice stay. I would not pay the full amount for this room ( I had a 75% discount price rate and Eater promotion).
