| On the site of the landmark Swiss Centre, the W London - Leicester Square Hotel has given Leicester Square a landmark building to be proud of (at last). Architects Jestico Whiles have given the building a "playful frosted façade" - i.e. making use of lots of glass - which allows the building façade to change under coloured lights while also making maximum use of natural daylight in the bedrooms. The mixed-use building includes a ten-floor, 192-room hotel as well as a spa and ten penthouse apartments, two storeys of retail space and a casino and restaurants on two basement levels. Well known worldwide, the W hotel brand is a stylish, modern concept and their first London hotel includes signature W trademarks like the W Living Room concept, where guests are invited to "mix, mingle and relax in a stylish social atmosphere". Service is at the heart of their philosophy, exemplified by their Whatever/Whenever service, a 24-hour concierge that grants your every wish - from box seats at a Premier League game to a private shopping excursion at Harrods.
