Stayed here for a family event. Very nice hotel. The rooms are very ergonomic. We used the swimming pool next door to the hote which was very good. Hotel is pretty close to Richmond town centre and a couple of hundred yards from richmond park.

We arrived by car and we saw the car park was 10 pounds for 4 hours. We weren't expecting this but had no choice. We went in and the scones were amazing; the sandwiches could be refilled and the tea had a good choice. The top tier had patisseries that were French with macaron and British with carrot cakes. We then went to reception to pay for the parking ticket and it was free!

My fiancé & I decided to book a 2 night break through secret escapes as a little treat, we are saving for our wedding next year & it is my partners birthday in August, the price was £249 for 2 nights inc breakfast & a 3 course evening meal both nights, i thought this was a good price, given the location, i requested to pay an extra £40 to upgrade our room, reception staff were very pleasant & helpful, we were directed to our room & I went back down to reception to say i think there had been a mistake, surely this wasn't a superior double, i'd read the rooms were spacious with large bathrooms...this was not the case with the room we had been given & i was told prior to booking that i could have a nice view, this over looked the car park, reception told me this was a good superior room that i had been given... & that the car park was the preferred view...? the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was extremely tiny & very 'standard' not superior! nothing like any of the photos that are posted in the gallery on their website! We took a lovely 15-20 minute walk down to the Thames that afternoon, we had reserved a table for 8:30 in the hotel restaurant for that evening, on arrival we were told there was no tables available, we weren't happy, we waited perhaps 15 minutes & were then shown to a table, the set menu was part of the deal, there wasn't much choice, we had prawn cocktail to start, which was fine, i had fish for main which was disappointing, it was full of bones & i didn't enjoy it, my partner had chicken which was bland, strawberry's for dessert were nice, after we took a short walk to Roebucks pub, a few doors down! the pub was full up & lots of nice food coming out, i wish we'd eaten there instead. I slept ok although the aircon made a strange whirring noise the bed was comfortable, the amenities they provide in the room are not the same as on their website! there was a nice selection at breakfast although my partner said the hot food wasn't at all hot, i had toast, yoghurt & fresh fruit. That evening i was disappointed to see the same set menu, i asked the waitress if we could have something different & she said of course & gave me the other menu, she was extremely attentive & helpful, we ordered but the waiter mixed up our order with the table next to us & there was a delay with us both getting our meals & they couldn't apologise enough, we ordered the chicken Caesar salad, not realising it came with fish included!! i didn't mind this but my partner wasn't keen, we picked them out! the desserts were amazing this time! There is a mixture of guests here, mainly workmen, business people & couples that have purchased the secret escapes offer, its about a 20 minute walk to the train station & you have to pay £8 a day parking, we left the car there & walked to the station, reception lent us an umbrella for a £20 deposit on our room, the hotel is very grand! the best thing about it is the staff, they were all really lovely & couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome, we certainly enjoyed our short stay here & would recommend. Also neither of us couldn't log onto the wifi at all during our stay.

I stayed here the night before my wedding which was at Pembroke Lodge with my bridesmaids, the maid of honour shared the room with me and the bridesmaids had separate rooms with their partners. I had to order a suite so that there would be plenty of room for myself and 5 bridesmaids to get ready in the morning. At the time of booking I requested to have one of their larger rooms if possible, and the room was lovely and spacious to the point where my other girls were a little envious, there was plenty of seating, double closets, and a mini fridge. My friends had booked double rooms and were located just down the corridor, their rooms were very nice but did lack space. I also believe they had to pay extra for parking on top of the room price which I feel is a little unnecessary.
Upon arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, and were quite excited to discuss the wedding as they saw me take my dress up to the room; they also made me aware that they would be happy to help if there was anything I required over my stay. The hotel was well presented and very clean with nice décor and good maintenance.
I spent the evening in the bar with friends, we ordered some drinks and food, which was very overpriced. The service wasn't particularly great as we were waiting a long time to be acknowledged at the bar- I could understand if it was very busy but the area was actually rather quiet, it was also later in the evening about 8-9 pm so not even peak dinner times. We waited quite some time for meals/snacks we had ordered to arrive to the table, and my vegan friend was provided with a meal that contained meat and cheese despite requesting otherwise. Fresh food was brought out rather quickly afterwards but it was still the incorrect order.
When I checked in at reception I had been advised that breakfast was included with my suite, when I got to breakfast in the morning there was some confusion regarding this so I had to wait about 15-20 minutes for the staff to find out if it was required for me to pay extra. Once this was rectified I went to the breakfast buffet. There was a good selection of hot food and cereal, but the fruit was a little soggy and there was not much to choose from in that respect.
Overall, this is a pleasant hotel and I imagine I would stay again, the views are breathtaking and it is such a wonderful location, I just feel it is rather overpriced.

We purchased a last minute room on Secret Escapes; the offer was dinner, bed and breakfast. The check in was smooth as we were directed to our room in the new part. We had to walk up some stairs that were being decorated, but that's not a big deal. We booked dinner and when we went downstairs to eat, we were left standing looking at a half empty restaurant waiting for the waitress to locate our reservation. The food was pretty average. We ordered the fish main and a jacket potato on the side. The jacket was strangely served with baked beans (which did not go with our dinner at all) and was also quite hard and cold, so we sent it back. When the replacment was received, it was served with cheese, which also didn't go with our meal. After dinner, we grabbed a drink and sat outside, which was lovely. I did have a pretty sleepless night as we couldn't figure out how to turn the extractor fan off. My boyfriend tried to call reception to ask how it works, but couldn't get through. In the morning, the guy on reception said he'd been on duty, so maybe my boyfriend rang the wrong number. We were informed the switch for the extractor fan was next to the bed. Strange! In the morning, housekeeping knocked on the door and tried to enter immediately, around 9.30am - way too early! Overall, we had a good stay. The room was modern and cosy.
