So we arrived to reception, looked amazing, room not ready to 2pm that's fine so we dropped our cases off, on return (2.40pm) told check in 3pm ... Um no we were told 2pm this morning, oh it's 3pm on weekend ! Trying to find where your going from the lifts is a complete guessing game and a complete waste of time and energy ( all they have to do is put locations by level buttons in elevator, is it really a big ask ??). On arrival to room we find not enough items for four people, only two cups, glasses, bath robes etc.... Had to ring reception, arrived by maid very quickly. Went to pop our wine in fridge... Locked ! Phoned reception, have to put a £50 deposit down to open fridge, ( because of mini bar items) hideous, need to go to reception to do this, (no sorry you can bring card machine to us) which the lady did do, went to plug in music ... wrong connections, again another phone call to reception, delivered correct lead. Spa, we went for a sun room treatment which was amazing, very relaxed, very welcoming, ladies were lovely. Had a nice cool dip in the pool, very busy there. On returning to our room to get ready for our night out, went to take our nice cold bottle of wine out of fridge.... Locked again ! After ringing reception again and arguing that we had already paid, and having to read authorisation code to them they finally released lock, not good. Fantastic nights sleep, shower very powerful and hot, reading information book it said if item from mini bar removed for five seconds will be charged... Great we had removed all contents to fit our wine in .... Again told reception that nothing used and all sorted, however fridge was extremely dirty ( photos shown to reception ). On check out, walking into entrance from room, some gents power washing outside where seating area was, on slippery tiles with no "caution wet floor signs" ! Health and safety error. Would I recommend ? Probably not.

We stayed in room 007 -
Avoid this room as it is next to the lift and you will be kept up ALL night. Every time someone uses the lift, it sounds like a train traveling through your room. The room was very "tired" with what appeared to be dirty carpets. We've stayed in this hotel many times before, therefore we decided to stay again. We had been out all day and only noticed the noise when we got into bed that evening. Luckily we were only staying one night, however when we raised this with the front desk when we checked out, the lady there simply shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry" and could not appear to care.
This is simply not acceptable and unfortunately The Grange has lost a very loyal Customer. I previously recommended this hotel, however after today unfortunately I have to advise people there are far better places to stay for less within the area.

My husband and I stayed at The Grange St Pauls 21.5.16-22.5.16. Using the hotels online instructions we used the baynard car park the closest car park to the hotel which is no longer than a 2-3 minute walk to the hotel. We found this hotel to be in a perfect location for local theatres (we watched the lion king) and restaurants/pubs and shops. We walked to the lyceum theatre taking us no longer than 20mins door to door. You can walk along side the Thames or through the town. We used a taxi once due to rain which cost us £9.10 including tip to give you a rough idea of cost. We used the sports bar and had a light bite to eat - cannot fault the service here. Sunday morning we headed to the pool, towels, robes and lockers available. Very well maintained area, our only criticism on this visit we found the pool to be cold along with the sauna - the only facility we found up to temperature was the steam room.
We could not fault any of the staff, always willing to please and very helpful. Especially concierge who happily kept our bags secure as we checked in before check in time so we could still go and explore without carrying our luggage around. We stayed in room 407 floor 4, very clean and tidy and bed very comfortable. Again only a tiny criticism our shower doors seals at the bottom were starting to peel away which caused a small amount of water to leak through to the floor, nothing major but its sometimes the little things that need to be keep maintained especially when you paying more than normal. We did not include breakfast in our stay so cannot comment. All in all we would defiantly stay at this hotel again, very modern, clean and great location and amazing service received.
