What to do and where to stay in London's Stratford neighbourhood

Host of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Stratford has enjoyed a major regeneration in recent years. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is now open to the public, offering a site of over 250 acres of beautifully landscaped open space and 6.5km of waterways. Visitors can take advantage of Olympic venues such as the Aquatics Centre, Velodrome and Eton Manor, all of which are open for public use, while children's play areas and walking trails also make it a nice spot for a day out. Additionally, Westfield Stratford City opened in 2011 bringing large branches of anchor stores such as John Lewis, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer as well as other household names like Apple, Primark and Topshop to the area. Improvements have also been made to Stratford station and the old Olympic Village has introduced new housing.
