Renaissance Watercolours: from Durer to Van DyckThis spring, the V&A explores the development of watercolour painting during the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery with its new exhibition, Renaissance Watercolours: from Drer to Van Dyck. The exquisite medium will be shown in its best light through the display of 200 rarely seen masterpieces that illustrates them as a unified art form for the first time. Visitors will see how watercolour painting has played a vital role in our understanding, interpretation and documentation of the natural world with genres themed around landscape, natural history and portraiture. See works by seminal painters including Albrecht Drer, Nicholas Hilliard and Anthony van Dyck.
