St Bartholomew the Great is a historic church founded in 1123 and the oldest parish church in the City of London. Features include the pre-Reformation octagonal font, a 13th century coffin and the 15th century monument to Rahere, a jester at the court of Henry I. Rahere was also the founder of both the church and the nearby hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital. St Bartholomew's also appears in the award-winning films 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'Shakespeare in Love'.
