One of London's best known landmarks, Centre Point has been used as a navigational tool since the 1960s. Lost in Soho's back streets, you could always find your way out thanks to this grade II listed, 34-storey skyscraper. B uilt in 1966 and designed by Richard Seifert , it has been extensively modernised 50 years after it was built, and reopens in 2017 to reveal 82 apartments with interiors designed by Conran & Partners. All have access to the 30 metre pool, spa, gym, lounge, meeting room and screening room as well as views over the Shard. As part of the upgrade, a pedestrianised square, lined with cafes, shops and restaurants, occupies what was previously a fume-filled traffic gyratory system at the base of the building. And, from 2018, the square will lead directly to the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station.
