Established in 1832, the Wellington Club is one of the oldest private member clubs in the UK but there is a way for non-members to enter. At the restaurant within the club you can dine on whole Cornish Dover sole while surrounded by a priceless collection of contemporary art from the likes of Damien Hirst. Brett Duarte, formerly executive chef of the Gaucho Group, is in charge of the kitchen, serving c rispy ox cheeks and cured mackerel for starters, poached and grilled chicken and pan fried halibut among the mains. As well as the restaurant, the two-floor club on Jermyn Street includes two bars and five private rooms and a cigar room. Special events vary from late night DJs to Motown brunch with live music, cocktails and butler service.
