Venue hire at Museum of the Order of St John
Hire this venue for your own event - it has four function rooms the largest of which can hold a maximum of 150 guests and the smallest is ideal for 12.
The Museum of the Order of St John tells the story of the St John's Ambulance from within a 16th century gatehouse which was formerly the southern entrance to the Priory of the Medieval Order of St John. The museum which underwent a ?3.7 million refurbishment programme, concluded in late 2010, includes armour, manuscripts and religious art among its treasures and the historic rooms are also available for private hire. The Chapter Hall, with medieval and modern coats of arms of the Priors on display, provides a distinguished setting for large meetings, banquets, lunches and receptions and has capacity for 100 for a dinner dance and up to 150 for a reception. The Council Chamber, which dates from 1504, has beautiful stained glass windows and can seat 25 for dinner, 30 for a wedding. An old Elizabethan fireplace carved with serpents, fruit and beasts dominates the Old Chancery, ideal for intimate dinners for just 12 people, while the Museum Galleries - where the illuminated Tudor walls contrast with a sleek modern space - create a beautiful backdrop for a reception for up to 100.Museum of the Order of St John images
