Self-taught butcher Charlie Carroll continues the expansion of his popular Flat Iron steakhouse with this seventh branch, located on Commercial Street in Spitalfields. Having originally built up a loyal following as a pop-up back in 2012, the mini chain now boasts restaurants in Covent Garden, Soho, Shoreditch and King's Cross. The concept is simple: steak, really good steak, at an affordable price. While the affordable yet tasty flat iron steak sits at the heart of the menu, regular specials like grass fed wagyu bavette and tempting sides such as classic beef dripping chips make up the rest. This latest outlet references the traditional Victoria houses in Spitalfields with a brick inglenook fireplace housing an 1800's cast iron stove. Here pots of hot toffee sauce bubble away ready to be used on the restaurant's sticky toffee pudding.
