This welcome addition to the Soho fast food scene serves up fresh and zingy Indian-style wraps and salads at affordable prices. Mooli's was founded by two former career high-flyers who have returned to their Indian roots and teamed up with a chef who used to work at a Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair. The result is pretty impressive: juicy, warm, flavoursome fillings mixed with zesty salsas, vibrant chutneys, crunchy salads - and all rolled into a fresh homemade roti (the Indian bread is baked on site every morning). What really works is the simple, to-the-point menu which offers five different types of filling (Kerelan beef, Goan pork, spiced chicken, paneer with carrot and tomato, and asparagus and soft spicy potato) as well as some specials (the goat is superb) and a range of fresh drinks, soups and cakes. You can even get a beer or a pomegranate and chilli mojito. The clean and modern Frith Street outlet, while underwhelming in appearance, has a great atmosphere - primarily because of the welcoming, chatty workforce - and stays open late so you can pop in for a post-drink / pre-Theatre bite. The "moolis" come in two different sizes and are all under £4 - although if you're really hungry one regular sized mooli may just not be enough. In this case, you'd be advised to splash out an extra pound for a bag of broken roasted poppadoms, served with a mini tub of sweet tomato or hot green chutney. The guys at Mooli's are so kind, they'll probably throw in a free drink as well.
