Traditional grilled meat skewers cooked over hot coals and stuffed in a pita are the signature dish at Greek restaurant Suvlaki on Brick Lane, a spin off from the original Suvlaki in Soho. These juicy skewers also come on the stick, hot off the robata and josper grills. Choices include Mount Olympus wild boar sausage with smoked aubergine, spicy king prawn with dill and rose aioli or slow cooked aged Scottish Texel lamb with chilli beetroot, vegetable cous cous and green herb sauce. Taking inspiration from Athens, i nteriors have been designed by Afroditi Krassa, there's a hint of neoclassicism in the blue and a grey marble shopfront. Seating is on vintage wooden chairs or at a reclaimed church bench in the second dining room at the back where you can watch the kitchen action first hand. Keeping it Greek, right down to the last drop, drinks include wines from the Kokotos estate and craft beers from Nissos Pilsner and a Marea Ale.
