Taking inspiration from the gondolas and canals of Venice, Veneta is the Salt Yard Group - see also Salt Yard, Dehesa, Opera Tavern and Ember Yard - getting misty eyed about the 'floating city' of a bygone era and giving it a hefty dose of modern day glamour. Reached by a stunning handcrafted staircase, the restaurant is an enchanting space seating 110 at the bar, banquette booths and intimate tables. A mezzanine level, which can be booked for private hire, is the prime position from which diners can look out over those in the bustling restaurant below. Located in the swish, pedestrianised St James's Market development, outside there's an extensive terrace - the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Head Chef Jamie Thickett (formerly of Opera Tavern) has put forward a menu inspired by classic Venetian dishes, there's fresh seafood at the raw bar as well as charcuterie and cheeses from the Veneto region, served from a trolley. Breakfast will be an event, offering both indulgent and healthy options, all with a Venetian twist.
