At risk of being converted into a block of flats when it closed, east London boozer Nelsons Head was saved by its beloved locals in 2016, who all signed a petition to get the much-loved pub reopened. Originally opened in the 1830s, the newly named Fanny Nelsons has been revamped into a cross between a pub and a cocktail bar, with local beers, natural wines, cocktails and comforting food. Blooms from the nearby Columbia Road Flower Market brighten up the place while vintage telephones, convex mirrors and a stripped back feel ensures it fits in with its trendy neighbourhood.
