On Shoreditch High Street, beneath the co-working office spaces of Forge & Co, is Spelzini, an Italian cafe by day which becomes Luigi's Bar by night. Owned and operated by Jim Fisher, both the cafe and bar take inspiration from his Italian heritage and Luigi's presents a menu of Mediterranean spuntini, antipasti and trammezzini - small Piedmontese sandwiches - to have with your aperitivi and wines made with Italian grapes. Stand at the brickwork-backed bar or g rab a seat on low-slung leathers sofas at elongated marble tables, or on pale oak dining chairs. Try an Italian aperitiv like a cherry shrub negroni, a clementine Aperol shrub or a truffle and olive frozen martini and enjoy with bresaola and mortadella salumi , burrata drizzled with chilli oil, Gorgonzola with figs and salty Calabrian anchovies.
