Bam-Bou, a well regarded pan-Asian restaurant from the Caprice Group, is located in a Georgian town house to the south of Charlotte Street, furnished throughout in French-Vietnamese style. This building has a historical past - it once hosted Ezra Pound's Vorticist movement - and its four storeys now hold 2 dining rooms, 3 private rooms, and The Red Bar, a cocktail bar with an extensive whisky menu listing over 60 Japanese whiskies, on the top floor. The decor is reminiscent of an opium den - lacquered floors, Vietnamese artifacts and opulent furniture. Head Chef Gary Lee, previously of The Ivy, Le Caprice and Lola's, designed the restaurant's South-East Asian influenced menu, a fusion of ingredients from Thailand, China and Vietnam. The wine list is slightly steep although they do serve half-bottles and the selection is substantial.
