On the site of the old St Paul's Hospital in Covent Garden, hip private members' club h Club London has been designed specifically for the creative industries - complete with bar and dining rooms, cinema, TV and recording studios. Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, paired up with Dave Stewart, musician and producer (and one half of the Eurythmics) to create this designer haven where creative types can feel at home. At £800 a year (and a joining fee of £250) membership is on the pricey side - but it's cheaper (and less stuffy) than Soho's Groucho and there is a reduced rate (no joining fee) for those under 30. Facilities include a main lounge and bar, a restaurant, a screening room, martini and bellini bars, a games room and a library. Rooms are also available for hire and, if you know the right people, you can drop in for an art exhibition or a screening without paying the annual membership fee.
