The Pig's Ear off the Kings Road is a decent Chelsea gastropub, popular with the Sloane Ranger set with Prince William the best example of the usual crowd found propping up the bar here. And the royal clientele isn't the pub's only claim to fame, it is also housed in a building owned by footballer Frank Lampard and his father, Frank Snr, since 2008. Food is of the British and French brasserie type with dishes like Lancashire hot pot and char-grilled steak served in dining spaces in the bar and in the adjoining Blue Room where you can warm up by the open fire in winter months. When it gets really busy, during the evenings and at weekend lunch times, the dining area expands into the oak panelled Dining Room upstairs for more of a fine dining experience. Appealing to drinkers as well as diners, the pub serves the beer (when available) from which it gets its name - the signature Pig's Ear from the Uley Brewery in Gloucestershire - alongside traditional cask ales from the nearby Sambrook's Brewery. An extensive wine list, Breton cider, and a selection of Czech, Belgian and German lagers available by the bottle add to a drinks list that has something to suit all tastes.
