The Electric Blue Gallery gallery, co-owned by Jessica Tibbles and Olivier Bernay, opened in January 2009. By February, Wallpaper* magazine was calling the launch "a highlight of 2009" - with 10 months of the year left to go. The gallery's mix of artists and (quite literally) cutting edge hairdressers makes the Spitalfields space a magnet for hip young things in the design and media industries. The first exhibition, a one man show by Jaspar Goodall, caught Wallpaper*'s attention ("one of our favourite graphic designers") and set the standard for the sort of art you can expect to see here. Describing themselves as "a mixture of Colette in Paris and a lifetime of London's fashion and art underworld party scene," you can quickly work out that this is very much a place to see and to be seen.
