As Londoners struggle to relax in this bustling behemoth of a city, people seem to keep on finding new, bizarre ways to chill out. Float offers us the latest trick – the flotation tank. The design is aimed to induce complete sensory depravation for around one hour. You lie floating in a blacked-out, sound-proofed tank full of salt water maintained at skin temperature. Apparently the effect is total relaxation and an hour session can feel like hours of sleep.
As with all nascent technology, the benefits are disputed, but some claim increased creativity, imagination and concentration. Whatever the case, if you're up for trying new things Float could be for you.
You can combine a session in the tank with a class, a facial or a massage to make a full afternoon of it. This is the ultimate way to relax.
