The name Jermyn Street is synonymous with gentlemen's outfitters and, more specifically, shirt makers. Turnbull & Asser, shirt makers by royal appointment to HRH Prince of Wales, T M Lewin and Hawes & Curtis are just some of the places where a man of taste can get his dress shirts tailor made. The street is also well known for its old fashioned shops which include barbers (Geo. F Trumper and Taylors of Old Bond Street) and bootmakers Lobb's. On the same street, pungent cheese shop Paxton & Whitfield is another long standing specialist shop worth seeking out along with Davidoff cigar shop, Tramp Nightclub and the 70-seat Jermyn Street Theatre. The vast five floor Waterstone's Piccadilly bookshop and posh department store Fortnum & Mason also back onto Jermyn Street while the pretty Edwardian Piccadilly Arcade joins the street with Piccadilly.
