Lovely local independent bookshop in East Dulwich Rye Books sells fiction, children's books, art and design, and tomes on travel as well as hard-to-find books, gifts and stationery. The bookshop set up by Alastair Kenward stocks beautiful books that you won't take straight to the charity shop. The shop on Upland Road also has a second-hand section where you can buy a book for as little as three pounds. Regular events include children's storytime for babies and children up to four years old, Bea's Baby Bop and French for kids up to pre-school age, and they also create author events where writers come in, read to and meet their audience.
