Explore London's canals in Camden, Little Venice and beyond on a self-drive boating from Paddington. You'll be captain of your own boat, so you can chart your own course when you hire a GoBoat from their HQ in Merchant Square. With two routes to choose from - boats run on both the Grand Union and Regent's Canals - you can travel past London Zoo, through Regent's Park, see Camden Lock and experience the 250 metre long Maida Hill tunnel. Seating up to eight people around a picnic table, the boats have a leisurely maximum speed of four mph. You'll travel on the peaceful waters safe in the knowledge your boat is mainly made of recycled plastic bottles and comes with an electric engine which produces no noise or nasty pollution. Having seen how hugely successful the boats are in Copenhagen, two Londoners, Grant Sweeney and Julian Wootton, decided to share their keen interest in boating by setting up GoBoat in London.
