Summer 2014 brings a temporary restaurant from the team behind Des McDonald's Q Grill in Camden to the roof of Selfridges. Inspired by grand Victorian greenhouses, the lush rooftop garden overlooking Oxford Street has been designed by Alexander Waterworth Interiors and includes a retractable roof so food will be served regardless of the great British weather. As at Q Grill the menu is largely BBQ based with succulent meats cooked over a charcoal grill. Lighter super-food salads and fresh seafood have been added to cater for reduced appetites during the warmer summer months, and foodie events are also being held at the venue including talks by influential chefs and innovators in the food industry. Open for late breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, when a garden path leads to the candlelit dining area on the terrace, On the Roof with Q is a wonderful addition to London's al fresco dining experiences.
